Just one day after Nikon’s announcement of a new 6-megapixel D40 Digital SLR - priced at $599.95 (with 18-55mm lens), Canon has announced a price-cut on their popular 8-megapixel model, the EOS Rebel XTi, bringing its price down by $300 to just $599.95 (Body Outfit) or $699.95 (with 18-55mm lens).
The EOS Rebel was officially introduced on August 24 and now just three months later we are seeing a price cut of $300 (down from $899/$999). Last years #1 seller, the EOS Rebel XT, can already be found selling for under $600 with 18-55mm lens - the new price cut on the Rebel XTi will only help to push prices lower. In the end, the consumer is the real winner.
