Play hard, record everything, even underwater! Today, Oregon Scientific announced its next generation of its winning action camera lineup: ATC2K. Weighing in at less than a pound (with batteries), this hands-free, self-contained action cam delivers full color digital video in 640 X 480 VGA at 30 frames per second, nearly twice the video quality of its best-selling predecessor, ATC-1000. ATC2K shoots high quality video in up to three meters of water for the duration of the battery life. Take it with you on your surf, snorkel or ski trip!
Expandable up to 2GB, with a built-in SD card slot and 32MB of internal memory, ATC2K mounts easily on helmets, bikes, race cars, dirt bikes and more. Wipe outs in a white out? No worries, ATC2K is also shock-resistant for extreme sports activity.
“We’ve been working hard to get the design, functionality and performance of ATC2K up to demands of the action sports and outdoor enthusiast crowd,” said Bill Uzell, executive vice president of Oregon Scientific. “We learned with our ATC-1000 that hands-free action cams are not just for kids, they’re for kids of any age and can be used in a wide assortment of scenarios. We’re even talking to firefighting organizations to use ATC2K in training situations. We’re excited to see ATC2K quickly becoming this holiday’s must-have.”
ATC2K comes equipped with mounting hardware for bicycles, skateboards, helmets and more. USB and RCA cables are also included for “insta-grat” playback on video devices or TVs. Its digital memory is expandable using standard SD cards, a 2GB card will hold nearly two hours of compressed video?plenty of time to perfect the latest stunt. The included Action Lab software lets you turn your footage from Mt. Bachelor’s Black Diamond runs into your version of Warren Miller, complete with sound and special effects. ATC2K also works seamlessly with most editing software.

Note: For optimal performance in colder conditions (at or below 0 degrees Celsius/32 degrees Fahrenheit), Lithium batteries are recommended. A polyurethane sleeve is available for purchase separately to help insulate ATC2K in extremely cold conditions (-32 degrees F).
