Olympus today announces the EVOLT E-410 digital SLR (single lens reflex) camera – easy enough for the first-time user, advanced enough for the serious photographer. High performance and functionality are packed into a surprisingly portable and simple-to-use body. 

The Olympus E-400’s compact size might be enough to set it apart from the competition but once a protruding lens is attached it isn’t exactly pocket sized. That said, it could be the final nail in the coffin for bridge cameras like the Sony R1 and the Samsung Pro815, as it is lighter and smaller and offers all the creative benefits that an interchangeable lens camera can offer.

Olympus today unveiled four new FE-series point-and-shoot digital cameras that combine slim design and easy operation to deliver impressive image quality without a steep learning curve - perfect for first-time camera owners. The FE-210, FE-230, FE-240 and FE-250 all feature a 2.5-inch LCD, Built-in Help Guides, Pre-set Shooting Modes and Digital Image Stabilization. 

Olympus introduces the sleek Stylus 760, a digital camera that expands on the Stylus line’s reputation for ergonomic design, high-performance and All-Weather durability with pioneering technologies that enable users to capture sharp, blur-free images in a variety of active shooting situations.

Olympus today rolled out the toughest digital camera in the Stylus series: the Stylus 770 SW. Built for active lifestyles, the 7.1-megapixel ultra-compact camera is designed to take great photos in nearly any environment, including in water down to depths of 33 feet (10 meters) and in winter weather as frigid as 18 degrees below freezing (14 degrees Fahrenheit; -10 degrees Celsius). It can also survive falls up to five feet and heavy loads up to 220 pounds of pressure. Within the camera’s rugged exterior is an array of innovative technologies to ensure clear, sharp images in the roughest of shooting situations. 

The new Olympus SP-550 UZ Ultra Zoom offers the ultimate in power and versatility with a compact, best-in-class 18x optical zoom lens (28-504mm equivalent in 35mm photography), which gives users the ability to shoot telephoto, wide-angle and macro (as close as 1cm) all in one. Crisp, clear images can be captured far and wide with Dual Image Stabilization and the broadest focal range available on any digital point-and-shoot.
