DxO Labs has announced the immediate availability of DxO Optics Pro v5.3.2, now supporting the Canon EOS 5D Mark II (DxO Optics Pro Elite Edition) and Canon PowerShot G10 (DxO Optics Pro Standard or Elite Edition). 32 new DxO Optics Correction Modules are also now available for a variety of cameras including the Canon G10, 350D/DIGITAL REBEL XT/Kiss Digital N, 400D/DIGITAL REBEL XTi/Kiss Digital X, 450D/DIGITAL REBEL XSi/Kiss X2, 20D, 30D, 40D, 50D, 1D Mark II N,1Ds Mark III, 5D Mark II, the Nikon D40, D40x, D60, D70, D70s, D80, D90, D200, D300, and the Fujifilm Finepix S5 Pro.

Canon has released a firmware update for the EOS 40D Digital SLR.  This update fixes an incorrect low battery warning when using the EF 85mm F1.2L II USM Lens; fixes an incorrect “Err 06” error message that may appear depending on the timing of when the camera is switched “On,” corrects an issue where incorrect colors would be printed when using the direct print feature to print RAW images captured using specific Picture Styles;  enables an external flash connected to the camera’s synchro terminal to fire even when the camera’s built-in flash is popped up; modifies the level of subject brightness that causes the AF-assist beam to fire when using an external Speedlite.

Breeze Systems has announced the immediate availability of NKRemote 1.0; Windows based software to control Nikon DSLR cameras from a PC. Breeze Systems’ highly regarded software has been used to control Canon cameras since 2001. NKRemote 1.0 is the first full release of similar software for Nikon DSLR cameras and currently supports the Nikon D3, D700, D300, D90 and D200.
